Powder River Round Pens for Horses

October 2012 issue

Since 1938, Powder River Livestock Equipment has provided the highest quality, most durable, functional and reliable steel products available to ranchers, farmers and rodeo contractors in the West —and nationwide.

Many Powder River livestock handling products that were manufactured and sold to ranchers in the 1950s and 60s are still being used today.

Powder River has a full line of equine products including stalls, run-in shelters, paddocks, steel and galvanized water troughs, round pens, gates, panels and feeders.

Powder River offers its customers three price-point options when choosing a round pen made from their horse panels. All round pen components are easy to assemble, horse safe, and powder-coated. Horse panels have 12-inch loop legs which make the panels easy to skid when moving them.

Twelve-foot long panels are ideal for creating round pens, but ten- and sixteen-foot lengths are also available. Powder River ’s website has graphs so you can calculate the number of panels you need depending on your round pen’s diameter.

The top-of-the-line Rancher Series Round Pen features 12-foot panels constructed of 2”, 16-gauge steel tubing that stand 72” tall and weigh 107 lbs. each. This round pen uses quick pin and clip connectors, and includes a 6’ wide bow gate with a 9’ high bow which can be opened from horseback.

The Medium Duty Round Pen uses 12-foot panels made of 1-5/8”, 18-gauge steel tubing which stand 64” tall and weigh 93 lbs. each. The panels feature six evenly-spaced rails 8-3/4” apart. Connectors may be either quick pin or chain.

The cost-effective Powder Creek Round Pen in made of 12’ panels which weigh 62 lbs. each and stand 64” tall. They are constructed with 14-gauge steel with vertical supports, and use quick pin and clip connectors.

Powder River Livestock Equipment originated in Baker, Oregon and is named after the river that runs through the town. The company is now based in Provo , Utah , and includes a 280,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility on 20 acres.

Powder River Livestock Equipment products are sold through approximately 1,400 dealers nationwide. For more information or to find a dealer near you, call 800-453-5315 or visit www.powderriver.com.
