Outfitters Pack Station

Phillips Formfitter Saddle

August 2012 issue

The Phillips Formfitter is unquestionably a phenomenal pack saddle, made exclusively by Outfitters Pack Station. Use it — and you’ll call it fabulous.

Tree bars are independent, thereby allowing the tree to fit the form of any pack animal. Wooden tree bars are 23 inches long and wrapped with rawhide, so that they distribute weight evenly over the back of the pack animal.

Each tree bar has small fleece/wool-lined skirts, which provide a cooler fit and more humane treatment. A good comfortable fit means that your animal will serve you better and longer.

Roller buckles are attached to the center of the tree so the rigging can be moved up or down, as well as backward or forward. A pivot on the front and back of each bar allows the aluminum bars to work freely and independently of each other at all times.

The pack saddle comes complete: breast collar, quarter straps and a quick-release on the breast collar. The breeching and breast collar are three inches wide and made of 12- to 14-ounce harness leather, with one-inch straps for the spider and quarter straps. The padded breeching spider utilizes four straps instead of two. This exceptional saddle also includes a half-breed and pack cinch. The saddle can be rigged with a single or double cinch.

No other pack saddle is as versatile or complete.

Outfitters Pack Station recently relocated to 238 Glascock Rd in Weiser, Idaho . 208-522-3446 or 800-657-2644. Watch the video about the Phillips Formfitter Saddle at www.outfitterspackstation.com.
