A Fair for Horse Lovers in Othello , WA

August 2012 issue

The Adams County Fair will be held Wednesday through Saturday, September 12-15, 2012, at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Othello , Washington . Western enthusiasts and horse lovers will find a variety of equine events highlighted throughout the weekend.

In addition to regular fair entertainment, parade, exhibits and fun, the Fair hosts the always exciting Othello PRCA Rodeo on Friday and Saturday beginning at 8:00 p.m.; and the Washington State Draft Horse Pullers Association Competition on Friday beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The Eastern Washington Cowboy Mounted Shooters will be hosting a 3-stage shoot — a timed speed and skill event that requires good horsemanship and shooting skills. Each “course of fire” or pattern is referred to as a stage, and is designed for the maximum enjoyment of competitors and spectators. Mounted shooters will compete Saturday beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Chuck Wagon Association will hold an authentic Chuck Wagon Cook-off and Feed both Friday and Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m.

JT Ranch, in Moses Lake , will host a Vaulting Demonstration Friday at 7:00 p.m. Vaulting combines gymnastics and dance while on the back of a moving horse. There may be up to three vaulters at a time on a horse.

For more information about the Adams County Fair, call 509-855-2871 or visit www.adamscountyfair.org.
