Mustang Days Competition!

      The 3rd Annual BLM Wyoming Mustang Days will be held August 13-18, 2012, at the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas , Wyoming . Opening ceremonies for the Wild Horse Show, Trainer Showcase & Adoption will feature the U.S. Border Patrol Mounted Mustang Unit riding formerly wild horses.

 

Wyoming Mustang Days August 13-18, 2012, Douglas, WY

      Dylan Lookingbill and his mustang, Kid, are preparing for Wyoming Mustang Days again this year. Just three points shy of winning the overall title in 2011 with his beach-themed freestyle event, Lookingbill is one of the many hopefuls, including his younger sister, entering for the chance to win the division high-point title, as well as a $1,350 saddle.

      The competition is open to mustang adopters or owners who wish to showcase their horses and have a chance to win saddles or other quality tack. Contestants can also visit with other adopters and their horses something returning contestants look forward to every year. There is no charge to enter the competition.

 

Wyoming Mustang Days August 13-18, 2012, Douglas, WY

      A large variety of classes include western equitation, green horse versatility, and adult and youth freestyle. A highlight is the trainer competition showcase between the Wyoming Honor Farm and the Mantle Wild Horse Training Facility on August 19, which features ten saddle-started horses and will demonstrate disposition and training.

      Horses used in the trainer competition will be available for adoption after the competition, in addition to 10 gentled yearlings that will be available for adoption during Fair week at the BLM booth.

      All Mustang Days events are open to the public and free of charge.
