Poker Ride to benefit Tough Enough to

Wear Pink of Montana

August 2011 issue

Riders get out in beautiful country and have some fun while earning money for a worthy cause at the annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink of Montana Poker Ride.

The ride will be held on September 10, 2011, at Lolo Hot Springs, 12 miles west of Lolo , Montana , on Highway 12. The ride begins at at 10:00 a.m. and registration is from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

Participants pay $5 per hand, and get a 50% payback. Riders draw a card for each hand purchased at checkpoints along the trail and the best hand wins. A raffle, auction and silent auction will also benefit the organization.

Fifty percent of proceeds from the Poker Ride go to Tough Enough to Wear Pink of Montana, which provides funding for breast cancer awareness, education, screening, support and further diagnosis for Montana women and men.

In addition to the Poker Ride, Tough Enough to Wear Pink of Montana fund-raising events include the “Ribbon to Rhinestones” golf tournament; “Rope for Hope” team roping; “Chicks & Chaps” women’s rodeo clinic; “Pink Weekend” with the Missoula Osprey baseball team; and a “Sort Pink” celebrity team sorting.

RV or tent camping is available at Lolo Hot Springs, which also has a restaurant. Call 406-273-2290 for camping reservations.

For more information on the ride, call Dr. John Harlan at 406-542-7300, or email jkharland67@gmail.com. For more information on Tough Enough to Wear Pink of Montanan, visit www.toughpinkmontana.org.
