New Product

Put a little color on your horse for pizzazz!

July 2011 issue

Endurance riders, pony club members, rodeo queen contestants, drill teams, parade participants, competitor, and other horse and pony lovers are using Colorful Manes and Tails brightly-colored, clip-on, synthetic hair extensions to make their equines stand out — or just for fun!

Owner Kim Zacha, in Corvallis, Montana, was inspired by her daughter’s colorful paintings of horses to create a product that would be easy to use and at a low cost so that young riders could afford to buy it.

“Originally I thought the extensions would appeal mostly to kids and teens, but more and more adults are buying them. Now I’m getting international orders,” says Kim.

Colorful Manes and Tails hair extensions come in a large variety of colors including: blaze orange for hunting season; red, white and blue for the Fourth of July; and three shades of pink for Tough Enough to Wear Pink competitions. For every pink extension sold, a donation is made to breast cancer research. Kim has recently added natural colors for horses that have lost some mane or tail hair just prior to competition.

Extensions are 23 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide, and can be easily trimmed to any length. They clip on or off with an attached “stay put” clip, and can be washed by hand.

Each extension is only $5.50, and shipping is free. To find out more, or to order, call Kim Zacha at 406-961-4572 or visit www.colorfulmanesandtails.com.
