Scabbards That Fit Larger Scopes from

  Madison Saddlery

May 2011 issue

Wade Miller, master leather artist and owner of Madison Saddlery for more than 30 years, along with his son, Richard, makes rifle scabbards to exactly fit hunting rifles equipped with larger, high-powered scopes used by hunters in wide open country.

Basic Madison Saddlery scabbards handle a gun with a 26-inch barrel, and have secure buckle straps, but the Millers also build a scabbard with a quick-release loop that is very similar to an old military-style scabbard.

“Hardly anybody uses these old military style releases anymore, but they work really well when you need your rifle in a hurry,” Wade Miller explains.

All of Miller’s scabbards are built to last — of premium, mid-weight saddle leather — without being extremely heavy. They can be lined with smooth leather, soft elk skin suede, or cushy sheepskin. Scabbards can be ordered with a complete hood to encase the rifle for safe transport. They can be customized with a beautiful variety of floral carving, basketweave stamping, or even personalized with a brand, name or initials that any horseman would be proud to own.

Due to the high-quality and demand of Madison Saddlery scabbards, they are always in production. Ordering early ensures your custom scabbard, made to fit you, your rifle and your scope, will be ready for this year’s hunting season.

Order your custom scabbard or any of the other fine Madison Saddlery leather products — saddles, pack saddles, sheaths, holsters or chaps — at the store, 83 Jeffers Road, Ennis, Montana, call  406-682-7132, or visit www.madisonsaddlery.com.
