New Product

The Slow Bale Buddy from Buddy, Inc.

December 2010 Issue

For horse owners who prefer the advantages of “slow feeding” their horses, but who like the convenience of feeding large bales, Buddy, Inc., manufacturer of the Big Bale Buddy, has designed a new product — the Slow Bale Buddy.

The Slow Bale Buddy is made of soft, strong, knotless nylon netting that completely encompasses the bale and is fastened with a special safety fastener.

Because horses’ digestive tracts are designed to be grazing for most of the day, the Slow Bale Buddy restricts horses to pulling hay through the 1-1/2” openings, which slows down consumption and mimics grazing. Horses are mentally occupied, which reduces boredom and anxiety. Hay waste is virtually eliminated.

The Slow Bale Buddy is available in three sizes, starting at $179.95. It is safe for all unshod horses, including minis, but is not recommended for use with shod horses. Slow feeding benefits most horses and is the most natural way to feed. It will fit both round bales, as well as small and large square bales, and is very easy to put onto the bales.

The Big Bale Buddy, a round, flat-bottomed bag with an elastic top opening, has been on the market for four years and has a 100% safety record. It is made of tough, 1,500-denier, open-weave polypropylene with two years of UV protection, and comes in three sizes, fitting up to a six-foot diameter bale, and starts at $89.95.

Many satisfied customers’ testimonials are listed on Big Bale Buddy’s website. For more information, call 866-389-9952 or visit www.bigbalebuddy.com.
