Ultimate Horse Course Trail Challenge

& Open House

May 2010 Issue

The Ultimate Horse Course (UHC), located in Three Forks at Montana Horses will host a Competitive Trail Challenge on Saturday, May 29, 2010, followed by an Open House on Sunday, May 30.

The Ultimate Horse Course is a permanent Trail Challenge Course open for use and training on weekends throughout the summer, with occasional competitions. It consists of 30 trail obstacles spread over roughly a half-mile loop on forty acres of the Mantle Ranch.

Challenges include water crossings, waterfalls, bridges, railroad tracks, log drags, down timber, slick rock, jumps, and much more.

The May 29 competition starts at 10:00 a.m. and is a six-mile trail course. It is a casual kickoff to the season, untimed, with three Divisions — Open ($75), Novice ($55), and Junior ($35). Ride-alongs ($35) are also welcome.

Cash and prizes will be awarded to the top competitors. Camping and pens are available by reservation on Friday and Saturday nights. Awards will be given Saturday during a BBQ.

Sunday’s Open House runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm, and riders are welcome to bring their horses to try out the Course and ride at leisure.

An Extreme UHC Trail Challenge will be held August 14th.

Montana Horses also provides lessons on ranch horses, or bring your own horse. The public is welcome to ride the Course on weekends for a $35 per person use fee. Call ahead for reservations.

For more information, please call Montana Horses at 406 285-3541 or visit www.montanahorses.com.
